NOW IN OUR THIRD SEASON

DRONEWEEK is an ongoing annual collaboration between Spark Creative and digital agency Barbarian bringing to life stories about complex technology for global innovation pioneer General Electric.

From concept to execution, Spark has created and deployed technology to be both in front and behind the camera to show viewers GE’s technology from new perspectives. As a creative partner, technology innovator, and full service production and post production partner, DRONEWEEK highlights how the different disciplines of Spark work in harmony to enhance storytelling.

  YEAR 1 (2015)  Highlighting 5 GE infrastructure and manufacturing locations around the US over 5 days, DRONEWEEK debuted with a live broadcast directly from Drone to Periscope, a world's first.

  YEAR 2 (2016)  Focusing on GE's sponsorship of the Rio 2016 Olympics, we created a week of live-streamed content behind the scenes of the Games broadcast from Olympic facilities around the city. We pioneered HD video streaming directly from Drone to the Web, breaking audience records on Facebook Live.

  YEAR 3 (2017)  In it's most ambitious iteration, DRONEWEEK traveled across the Globe highlighting clean energy initiatives on 4 different continents. Spark built and deployed LiDAR, Thermal, underwater and ground based robotic systems to give audiences a totally new perspective on these engineering marvels. Broadcast over a week on the VICELAND network.
